THE BAND

Omnos Quartet, a chord-less group, began in April 2015 as a collaborative workshop with the intent of self-improvement and personal growth. With this goal in mind, they have collectively honed their skills to play a wide variety of genres at a high level. Omnos' versatility sets them apart, and are perfect for weddings, restaurants, bars, parties, and private events. 

Zachary Finnegan

// Trumpet

 

Zach has become a leader on the bandstand and an in-demand musician in the Midwest. Music and spirituality have always been intertwined in his playing due to his upbringing in the church as well as family influence, and he has been molded into a fine jazz artist due to various life experiences and exceptional education. 

 

Originally from Wausau, WI, Zach received degrees in Jazz Studies and Music Education from UW- Stevens Point. He has studied with renowned musicians Andrew Balio, Patrick Phalen, and Robert Baca, Brent Turney and Mathew Buchman. He is currently in pursuit of a Masters degree in Jazz Studies from Indiana University studying under NYC trumpet player, John Raymond. 

 

Throughout his education and musical career, Zach has performed with many well known artists such as John Greiner's Swingshift Band, Hip Pocket, Clark Hunt's Drive-By Big Band, Water City Jazz Orchestra, Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music, the Central Wisconsin Jazz Orchestra and as Guest Artist/Soloist with the SPASH Jazz Ensembles, as well as sharing the stage with world-class musicians such as Walter Smith III, Michael Rodriguez, John Raymond, Thomas Walsh, Pat Harbison, Vince Mendoza, Rodney Whitaker,  Matt Wilson, Brandon Lee, John Raymond, Tim Green, Jeff Sipe, Michael Dease,  Jim Alfredson, Dave Pietro, Martin Wind, Miguel Zenon, Ben Allison, Steve Cardenas, Allison Miller, Conrad Herwig, Jim McNeely, Eric Marienthal, Wayne Bergeron, Janet Planet, Tom Washatka and Frank Ticheli. 

Jacob Opperman           // Saxophone

 

Jake resides in Manitowoc, WI, and is a top-notch performer in Wisconsin. He has a very distinct playing style which follows the footsteps of Jeff Coffin and excites audiences with his electricity and effortless range that he has been perfecting for over a decade. You can find him traveling all over the state (and beyond) most notably with Boogie and the Yoyo's as well as other groups stemming from the Fox Valley area.

 

Jake attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and received degrees in both Jazz performance and Music Education. He is an avid performer, composer/arranger, and educator and has performed in places such as New York City, Disney World, and New Orleans as well as enjoying a career as a regular performer around the state of Wisconsin. Beginning in Fall 2019, Jake will be the High School Band Director at Brillion High School.

 

Since picking up the saxophone over a decade past, Jake has had the opportunity of sharing the stage with Jeff Coffin's Mu'tet, Miguel Zenon, Matt Wilson, Conrad Herwig, Jim McNeely, Brian Lynch, Gordon Goodwin, Jose Valentino-Ruiz, Janet Planet, Tom Washatka, Ben Allison, Steve Cardenas, Allison Miller and Wayne Bergeron. 

Austin Bolden

// Bass

 

Austin is from Kiel, WI. Ever since discovering how to play, "Smoke On the Water," on his cousins bass Austin never looked back. He played in high school jazz bands, combos, rock bands and cover bands.

 

He began his education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, then decided to transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for various reasons. Austin has studied under Lincoln Goines, John Pattituci and Victor Bailey, Mathew Buchman and David Story. Austin received degrees in both Music Education and Jazz Performance while at UWSP. He is the director of Orchestra in the Menasha School District teaching grades 5-12. 

 

He is an in demand musician in the central Wisconsin area, and is consistently teaching, and gigging. He has a full CD and EP with various groups from his time in Boston and in Wisconsin. Meade Street Collective, a group he is a part of in the Fox Valley, was nominated for a WAMI this year.

Adam Hatton

// Drums

 

In his 16 years as a professional drummer, Adam has established himself as a competent and versatile player. His natural curiosity and varied educational background has awarded him in a unique perspective and an eclectic set of skills that span genres. 

 

As a Kaukauna, WI native, he studied Rock at his local music store for years before attending UW Fox Valley, where he studied Classical percussion and Jazz drumset. After receiving an Associates Degree, he transferred to UW Stevens Point, where he continued to study Classical and Jazz percussion, recieving a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance in 2015. 

 

Throughout his career and education, he has performed in numerous acts across many genres, opening for groups such as the Jerry Garcia Band, RA, and the Buddy Rich Big Band, as well as sharing the stage with world-class jazz artists such as Miguel Zenon, Martin Wind, and Conrad Herwig.

This year, Adam has been nominated for two WAMI's, Best Jazz group, as well as Best Drummer Award. He won Best Drummer in Wisconsin for 2019. Adam continues an extremely busy performance schedule regularly performing with five different working bands in the Fox Valley area.
